About Us

Founded on October 5, 1971, The Parker Foundation is committed to improving the lives of San Diegans. With assets totaling more than $48 million, the Foundation has awarded over $66 million in grants since its inception.

An independent, private foundation and California nonprofit corporation, The Parker Foundation is limited by its governing instruments to funding charitable organizations operating within San Diego County. Grants are not made to individuals, and the Foundation generally does not support conferences or symposia. While occasional grant support is provided to religious organizations, such grants are limited to direct support of nonsectarian educational or service projects. Loans may be considered under special circumstances. It is not the Foundation’s policy to support any project in a manner that would result in dependence on the Foundation for its continued existence.
